The Learnersaurus Literacy programs provide a successful,learning approach to enable the dyslexic learners and students with learning difficulties to achieve their potential, enhance theirconfidence and develop their skills in literacy. These programs offer an alternative approach to literacy learning for students who have not responded to classroom teaching, and other interventions. What are the Learnersaurus Literacy programs?
These programs provide an explicit, well structured , cumulative, multisensory program, suitable for all students aged from 7 years.
These programs are presented in kit form which includes:-
A set of workbooks which provide clear and easy to follow instructions for the parent to follow when providing the extra support needed at home.
Games which provide motivational support and extra practise in an enjoyable and engaging format.
Hands on equipment which targets the dyslexic learnerthrough a multisensory approach.
These successful and effective programs have been designed by Leslie Keast-Patch, a learning support teacher and specialist in dyslexia and literacy. These programs have been enhanced over the years providing visible, achievable results fordyslexic learners and students with learning difficulties. This centre will also be providing tuition using the unique Australian program, 'Cracking The ABC Code'. This program was developed by Dr Lillian Fawcett. The key components of this program are that it is multisensory and phonics based. It is a structured and comprehensive program targeting reading fluency, comprehension and spelling. This program aims to achieve a rapid improvement in reading ability within 12-30 weeks. Parental involvement is necessary to support this rapid improvement.
This centre will offer your pre-prep child the opportunity to engage in an Australian literacy program called Little Learners Love Literacy® . This program is designed to give young children the necessary skills to start reading and writing. Learning to read fluently helps to promote your child's success at school.
This centre can now offer the 'Sounds-Write Reading programme. This approach to the teaching of reading starts with the sounds in the English language and moves from the sounds to the written word. On the Queensland SPELD website, this program is described as ,,," a highly successful approach to the teaching of reading and spelling.The program is developmentally appropriate for beginning readers and is an effective intervention for children of all ages who have fallen behind with reading and spelling.'
